Microsoft signals it's committed to Surface hardware for the long haul - Though Microsoft has lost hundreds of millions of dollars on its Surface tablets, the company made it clear on Monday that it has no intention of backing away from the platform


I think it's important to remember that Windows NT started in response to NeXT and Microsoft didn't perfect it until Windows XP, which essentially resulted in 10+ years of market dominance. It's called the second mover advantage. And don't think that having a full version of Office on your tablet isn't an advantage.
